Title: Laboratory Waste Management Guide
Author: Dave Waddell
Abstract: The Laboratory Waste Management Guide addresses a broad range of issues and waste streams found in laboratories. The practices recommended in these guidelines will help analytical, medical, teaching, and biotechnology labs properly manage hazardous materials and reduce dangerous waste.
The guide also helps businesses and agencies in King County decide whether their waste may be acceptable for discharge to the sewer. Although the specific focus of this guide is King County, many of the recommendations are applicable to labs anywhere in the United States. These guidelines were developed with the assumption that the wastes generated are from intermittent and small-scale operations originating from laboratory processes in educational, public, or private labs.
